There was tension at an Area Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday when a woman, Mulikat Yusuf, collapsed after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, insisted on ending their marriage.
During the court proceedings, Abdulganiyu informed the presiding judge, Mr. Toyin Aluko, that he was no longer interested in continuing the union.
His wife, however, pleaded with the court to intervene, saying she was not ready for a divorce. Yusuf explained that after having six children, she had nowhere else to go if the marriage was dissolved.
Moments after her husband reaffirmed his decision to separate, the heartbroken woman broke down in tears, walked out of the courtroom, and collapsed.

Court officials and sympathisers quickly rushed to her aid and revived her by splashing water on her.
Judge Aluko advised Yusuf to make efforts to reconcile with her husband and seek an amicable resolution to their marital issues.
The case was adjourned until December 10 for a report on possible settlement or continuation of the hearing.
