A viral video has captured the moment officials of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI (Kick Against Indiscipline), confronted Nollywood actress Sarah Martins while she was cooking food for the less privileged on a road median in Lagos.
In the footage, the KAI officials are seen seizing cooking utensils and food items from the actress, who sat on the median preparing meals to distribute to people on the streets.
Despite the officials’ intervention, Sarah Martins insisted she was only engaging in an act of charity. “This is charity,” she repeatedly told the officers, but one of them responded, “It is unacceptable,” while another was heard saying, “Rubbish.”
At one point, an official told her, “Call anybody you want to call,” as they continued to confiscate her items.
The actress later took to social media, alleging that the officials assaulted her and poured hot oil on her hand, claiming she was only trying to feed the less privileged.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether her actions violated environmental laws or should have been tolerated as a humanitarian effort.
