Dr. Yilji Cashmir Kumtap has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in Plateau State under the platform of the New Democratic Coalition.
Announcing his aspiration, Kumtap said his decision to join the race was inspired by the growing demand from constituents for a leadership that genuinely represents the interests and aspirations of the people across the PKK Federal Constituency.
According to him, extensive consultations and engagements with residents revealed widespread concerns over limited opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, and the need for more effective representation at the national level.
The aspirant stated that his campaign would be driven by the vision of providing “A New Voice, A New Vision” for the people of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam local government areas.
He expressed optimism that with the support of the people, the constituency could witness improved representation, accelerated development, and greater opportunities for youths and communities.
Kumtap further urged residents and stakeholders across the constituency to unite in support of what he described as a movement aimed at building a brighter future for PKK.
The declaration has begun attracting attention among political stakeholders and supporters within the constituency as preparations for the 2026 political season gather momentum.
