Dr. Olufemi Olaleye Led Out in Handcuffs After Receiving Life Imprisonment for R3ping Wife’s Teenage Niece (Video)

A video circulating online captured the moment Dr. Olufemi Olaleye was escorted out of a court premises on Tuesday after he was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Lagos court.

The footage shows the Medical Director of the Optical Cancer Care Foundation leaving the Sexual and Special Offences Court in Ikeja, with correctional officers leading him out, handcuffed, to begin serving his sentence.

Dr. Olufemi Olaleye had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of his wife’s niece, On Tuesday, Oct. 24. The judgment was handed down by Justice Rahman Oshodi, the judge at the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos. Olaleye was found guilty on two counts: defilement of a 16-year-old minor and sexual assault by penetration.

Justice Oshodi determined that the evidence presented showed that Olaleye had raped the victim and compelled her to engage in a sexual act. The consistency between the victim’s account and the medical examination results played a crucial role in the conviction.

The judge added that Olaleye’s confessional statement and exchange of WhatsApp and email messages with his wife were enough evidence against him.

Justice Oshodi also held that the statement and undertaking he wrote and signed alongside his lawyer, Olalekan Buruji, with his NBA seal at Anthony Police Station, showed he r3ped the victim.
