Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has cautioned fans against remaining in abusive relationships, urging them to prioritize their safety over toxic unions.
In a viral video shared on his social media page, Agu advised: “Don’t die to save a relationship, instead kill the relationship to save your life. Love shouldn’t come at the cost of your life.”
His message drew mixed reactions online. One user commented, “He spoke the truth, though not easy to heed in reality…” while another added, “Na who dey alive dey do relationship. Staying alive is the key, no allow yeye love make you kpai.”
Chiwetalu Agu, born in 1956 in Enugu State, is famed for his witty expressions in Nollywood films. He won the 2012 Nollywood Award for Best Actor in an Indigenous Movie.
