Clergies in the Church Of Christ In Nations (COCIN) have been warned to
resist the temptation of dragging the Church into partisan politics.
This caution came from the erudite Vice President of the Church, Rev.
Dr Obed Dachan in his welcome remarks at the retirement service of Mrs
Josephine Goro in Panyam.
Rev Dachan who was visibly irked by the wide spread rumors of the
involvement of the Church in partisan politics told the congregation
that no Clergy COCIN is allowed to preach partisan politics in the
church as that would have the propensity to divide not only members of
the church but the body of Christ especially that the congregation
belong to various political interests.
Dr Dachan while thanking God for the life of Mrs Josephine Goro to have
served for forty nine years in the COCIN Health Unit also used the
opportunity to call on politicians to be upright in their politicking
and endeavor to serve with humility and the fear of God. He also called
on the congregation to keep praying for their leaders and for peace in
Plateau State and Nigeria.
