Davido, while receiving his third award on the stage of Headies 2018
Awards Night, disclosed that the secret of his success is “Lifting
Others”.

who took home, “Artiste of The Year, Song of The Year and Best Pop
Single, although not uttered literally, the Omo Baba Olowo implied this
by saying “lifting others na wetin I dey use”. He urged fellow artistes
and celebrities to assist people in need.

English, Davido said: “I wanna thank God first of all for all the
blessing he has given me this year, Two years ago, last year I didn’t
think I will be here. I want to say this; there is something I use every
time I wake up. We rise by lifting others. Everybody wey dey on this
stage no be some random people. I have helped them. Na wetin I dey use
be that. All the artistes there, una get money, Anything wey una fit do
for people, do am. E no go cost you anything to help others in need.”
The singer dedicated the award to his daughters, Imade and Hailey, as well as his girlfriend, Chioma Avril Rowland.

closed the ceremony with a performance of some of his hit songs, such
as ‘Ada’, Mayorkun’s ‘Bobo, DMW’s ‘MIND’, among others.
