Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly decided to go on strike and will not feature for Al-Nassr in their upcoming Saudi Pro League match against Al Riyadh.
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the 40-year-old superstar is frustrated with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) for not signing enough new players since he joined the league in December 2022.
Ronaldo, who has become a key figure and major draw for the Saudi Pro League, is also reportedly unhappy with what he perceives as favoritism by PIF toward rival clubs.
Additionally, the report claims that Ronaldo is upset over the recent reduction in authority of Simao Coutinho, the club’s sporting director, and CEO Jose Semedo following a board meeting.
The absence of Ronaldo is expected to be a significant blow to Al-Nassr ahead of their clash with Al Riyadh.
