Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has moved closer to reaching the remarkable 1,000-career-goal milestone after scoring a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s 5-3 victory over Al-Kholood in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday, October 29.
The 41-year-old forward scored three times in the second half to help his side secure victory in an entertaining encounter at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, taking his career goal tally to 985.
Al-Nassr and Al-Kholood were level at 2-2 at half-time after goals from Ângelo Gabriel and Sadio Mané for the hosts, while Julien Domingues and Antoine Essomba scored for the visitors.
Ronaldo took control of the game after the break, scoring in the 66th, 72nd and 81st minutes to complete his hat-trick and put Al-Nassr firmly ahead. Domingues later converted a stoppage-time penalty to complete his brace, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
The treble marked Ronaldo’s 67th career hat-trick and brought him to within just 15 goals of the historic 1,000-goal target, an achievement he has openly expressed his desire to reach.
His Portuguese teammate João Félix also played a significant role in the victory, providing four assists during the encounter, while Sadio Mané contributed a goal.
Following the match, Ronaldo celebrated the result on social media, describing it as a great team performance and expressing happiness at contributing with a hat-trick.
The victory strengthened Al-Nassr’s position in the Saudi Pro League title race, as the club continues its pursuit of another league triumph.
