Some members of the Celestial Church have expressed outrage on social media after content creator James Brown posted a video of himself receiving prayers inside the church while dressed in female attire.
The controversy stems from the church’s traditional outfit, known as the Sutanna, which comes in distinct male and female versions. James reportedly wore the female version, complete with the accompanying beret, during his visit.
In the video, the Celestial Church prophet is seen praying for James and performing rituals to cast away evil from his life.
Several church members argued that allowing a man to wear female attire in the parish damages the church’s image and is inappropriate. One member described the act as blasphemy.
The video shared by James has since sparked widespread discussion online, highlighting tensions between traditional religious practices and contemporary social expression.
