
The stakes are high, the players are ready, the ball will be
set rolling this weekend as the Continental Basketball League presents
‘May Madness Tournament’ in celebration of Lagos @ 50.
The league is made up of six teams; Eko Kings, Lagos City Stars, and
Lagos Warriors from Lagos, Libreville Izobe Dragons from Gabon, Abidjan
Raiders from Abidjan and Yaoundé Giants from Cameroon.
Billed to tip-off today, Friday 12th of May 2017, the tournament will
begin with the ‘Lagos Challenge’ at the remodeled Teslim Balogun Arena
in Lagos. Teams will go head to head against each other in one of the
most awaited basketball challenges ever in the history of Africa.
Thereafter the teams will embark on a road trip to the capital of
Cameroon, Yaoundé, tagged “Yaoundé Challenge” from 22nd to 24th of May.
The best of the best in basketball will hit the court on the 27th and
28th of May for the tournament’s All Star weekend, where your favorite
celebrities will play against Basketball veterans, and youth players.
Other activities are the CBL Three-Point Contest, CBL Slam Dunk Contest
and more. Fans will also have the opportunity to interact with their
favorite players at the highly anticipated tournament of the year.
The May Madness Tournament is not just about basketball, it’s more than a
game; expect to see the best African entertainers perform during the
half-time shows.
