A Nigerian caterer has taken to social media to express her frustration after an event she was scheduled to cater was abruptly cancelled due to a kidnap attempt on her client.
The woman, who shared her ordeal via her handle @cy_loves_food, revealed that her client narrowly escaped abduction while en route to the event venue. According to her, the attackers dispossessed the client of her phones, money, and other belongings.
The forced the event to be cancelled, with guests fleeing for safety over fears of insecurity.
In the caption accompanying the video, the caterer wrote:
“My client had a near-death experience with kidnappers. They took her phones, her money — everything she had. We had prepared almost ₦3 million worth of food. Most of it got spoiled. We gave some out.
“We were supposed to cater for her friends coming from Lagos, but they didn’t reach her village anymore because of fear. By the time we traveled back from Mbano to Owerri, 90% of the guests had left already.”
