Nigerian content creator Carter Efe has vowed to defeat and humiliate rapper Speed Darlington when the two entertainers meet in a celebrity boxing bout scheduled for October 1 in Lagos.
The pair are set to headline the latest edition of the “Chaos in the Ring” series organised by Balmoral Promotions. The fight will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and will be streamed live on DAZN.
The rivalry intensified on Thursday, September 10, when Carter Efe and Speed Darlington clashed during a promotional event ahead of their fight. What began as a verbal exchange reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, forcing security personnel to intervene and separate the entertainers.
During the confrontation, Speed Darlington reportedly taunted Efe and questioned whether he was still prepared to fight. Efe responded by insisting that the matter would be settled in the ring on October 1.
The upcoming contest will be the first time the two entertainers face each other in a boxing ring. However, both already have experience in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing circuit.
Carter Efe enters the contest after defeating singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus by unanimous decision in May. The three-round bout ended with all three judges scoring the contest 30-27 in Efe’s favour.
Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, previously faced Portable in 2025 and lost by technical knockout after he failed to continue into the second round. Following Efe’s victory over Portable, Darlington challenged the content creator to a fight, setting the stage for their October showdown.
With tensions already spilling outside the ring, the October 1 contest is expected to attract significant attention from fans of both entertainers. The bout will also be held on Nigeria’s Independence Day as part of the latest “Chaos in the Ring” event.
