A businesswoman, Roberta Edu, has sought clarification on an unusual salary payment practice she encountered while paying her employees, who happen to be co-wives.
The woman explained that she noticed two of her female employees provided the same account details for their salaries to be paid, and the account did not bear any of their names.
When she asked about it, she was told that the women are married to the same man and their salary should be paid to their husband according to Islamic practice.
The businesswoman asked Muslims how true this is.
Followers who commented said the action is no different from human trafficking and they expressed fears that the man could use the women’s income to marry a third wife who would come to work for him too.
