Shade Ladipo has responded to those saying Burna Boy was “cheated” out of winning the Grammy Awards.

Burna was nominated in the category for Best World Music Album but he lost to legendary Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo.

Some Nigerians felt he was the most deserving of the award. But media
personality, Shade Ladipo does not agree and she addressed it in a
video.

In the video shared to Instagram, Shade Ladipo said that even Burna
Boy knows that it’s an “honour” to have been nominated in the same
category as the legendary Angelique.

She added: “If Fela was alive, Fela and Angelique Kidjo, they’re mates.”

She went on to reiterate that the person Burna Boy looks up to – Fela – is the one in the same league as Angelique.
