Grammy-winning Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy has become the African artiste with the highest number of entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, surpassing fellow Nigerian singer Tems.

The achievement follows the debut of “Dai Dai,” his collaboration with Colombian pop sensation Shakira and the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The track entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 75, giving Burna Boy his ninth appearance on the prestigious U.S. chart.

Before the latest entry, Burna Boy and Tems were tied with eight Billboard Hot 100 entries each. The new milestone places Burna Boy alone at the top among African artistes on the chart.

The song gained widespread international attention after Burna Boy and Shakira performed it during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Mexico.

With Burna Boy’s latest achievement, Tems now ranks second among African artistes with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries.

The “Last Last” crooner has also set another notable record, becoming the first African artiste to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in six consecutive years.

His Billboard Hot 100 appearances include “Loved By You” in 2021, “Last Last” in 2022, “Sitting On Top of the World” and “Talibans II” in 2023, “Just Like Me” and “We Pray” in 2024, “WGFT” in 2025, and “Only You” and “Dai Dai” in 2026.

In another career milestone, Burna Boy recently surpassed 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify, highlighting his growing global influence and continued success on international music platforms.
