The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has finally complied with the directive of the Federal High Court in Abuja to present his defence in the terrorism case filed against him by the Federal Government.

Kanu was seen on Thursday filing his defence documents inside the courtroom, in line with the order of Justice James Omotosho.

Following Kanu’s repeated complaints about delays and procedural challenges, Justice Omotosho ordered that the court’s registry be temporarily relocated to the courtroom to enable him to file his processes without further hindrance.

Counsel to the Federal Government, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), confirmed to the court that he would accept the documents from Kanu and respond accordingly.

As of the time of this report, filing was still ongoing, with the judge temporarily standing down proceedings for one hour to allow the process to be completed.

Until now, Kanu had refused to open his defence, insisting that he must first be shown the specific terrorism law he was alleged to have violated before proceeding with his case.

The matter is expected to resume once the filing is concluded.
