An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, has discharged Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly conduct and assault on an Ibom Air flight.
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge on Wednesday after the police formally withdrew the case.
Emmanson had faced allegations of disturbing the peace aboard the flight, assaulting a crew member, and engaging in conduct capable of breaching public order. She pleaded not guilty during her arraignment.
Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that the complainant and the airline no longer wished to pursue the matter, prompting the withdrawal application.
Magistrate Salami subsequently granted the request and ordered Emmanson’s discharge.
