Retired Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is dead. He died on Sunday, January 26th in a helicopter crash in Calabasas.
Kobe was traveling with at least three other people in his private
helicopter. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
According to reports, emergency personnel responded, but nobody on
board survived the crash and five people were confirmed dead at scene.
Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Gianna Maria Onore, 13, was also killed in the helicopter crash alongside her father.
Legendary basketballer Kobe Bryant, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter
were travelling in Kobe’s private helicopter on their way to the Mamba
Academy for a basketball practice when a fire broke out sending the
chopper spiralling from the sky, according to TMZ.
Kobe Bryant and Gianna were two of five people confirmed dead in the
crash which happened in Calabasas, California on Sunday morning, January
26, 2020. Another player and their parent were also said to have been
on the helicopter.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on twitter five people died in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Before his death, Kobe tweeted at Lebron James. It was his last tweet.
