Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has relieved Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko of her appointment as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.
The decision was announced on Monday, September 29, 2025, through a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, the removal was part of a minor adjustment to the composition of the State Executive Council.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab-Baban Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect. The governor thanks the Honourable Commissioner for her services to the State and wishes her success in her future endeavours,” it read.
The development comes shortly after the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission dismissed two senior government officials over alleged forgery.
