Barcelona have completed the signing of highly rated Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge in a deal reportedly worth €8.5 million.
The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish champions, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2031.
Confirming the transfer, Barcelona announced: “FC Barcelona and Club Brugge have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jesse Bisiwu, who signs up to be a Blaugrana until 30 June 2031.”
The club added that the young winger will be officially presented in the coming days.
Bisiwu joins Barcelona after months of negotiations between the two clubs, with the Catalan giants identifying him as one of Belgium’s most promising young footballers.
He becomes the latest addition to Barcelona’s squad following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi as the club continues to strengthen its ranks ahead of the new season.
Barcelona described Bisiwu as a player with “a great future ahead,” highlighting his pace, physical strength and dribbling ability.
Born on January 22, 2008, the winger has represented Belgium at youth level and rose to prominence during the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, where he helped Belgium reach the semi-finals and earned a place in the tournament’s Best XI.
Bisiwu began his youth career at OH Leuven before joining Club Brugge’s academy in 2020.
Over the past two seasons, he made 14 appearances in the UEFA Youth League, scoring three goals. He also gained valuable senior experience with Club NXT, Club Brugge’s reserve side, making his Belgian Second Division debut in 2023 at just 15 years of age.
He went on to make 36 appearances for the reserve team before completing his move to Barcelona, although he did not feature for Club Brugge’s senior side.
Bisiwu is expected to begin his Barcelona career with Barça Atlètic, the club’s reserve team, while training regularly with the first team as part of his development.
With the transfer, he becomes the latest Belgian player to represent Barcelona, following Thomas Vermaelen and Fernand Goyvaerts.
