In a recent decision that has sent shockwaves through the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, the Court of Appeal has reassigned the mandate of the constituency’s representative, Rt. Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, who was originally elected on February 25, 2023, with an overwhelming show of support from constituents.
In his response, Hon Musa Bagos said the development comes as a surprise to the constituents, who had shown their unwavering support for him, with over 95,000 votes compared to the 1st runner-up’s 31,000 votes.
Despite the setback, Bagos called on his constituents to remain calm, law-abiding, and resolute. He assured them that the mandate they had entrusted to him was still in his heart and that he would not celebrate something he did not deserve, emphasizing the importance of justice for the next generation’s progress and growth.
“In God, we will always trust because He has His path,” Bagos stated, highlighting his commitment to continue standing for justice. He emphasized that the voice of the constituents was not just in the office but within him, and he vowed that their voices would not be silenced.
Bagos concluded his message with the phrase, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” which translates to “The voice of the people is the voice of God.” He expressed hope that this challenging situation would pass and extended his wishes for the longevity of Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, the Peoples Democratic Party, and Plateau State.
The future of the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency representation remains uncertain as constituents wait for further developments in the wake of the Court of Appeal’s decision.
