Group operating under the aegis of Vote Latep Again (VOLA) on
Thursday said the All Progressive Congress APC under the leadership of
Hon Latep Dabang as chairman is united . This was contained in a statement signed by Cmr. Yatu Promise the chairman, VOLATA and Engr. Buhari Auwal organizing secretary and made available to newsmen in Jos .
The statements reads that ” Not quiet long ago, we were abraded and
miffed by an ongoing acrimonious cold war amongst party faithfuls,
mostly on the cyberspace and even antisocial mediums elicited by
spiteful publications and negative propagandas against the party leaders
and some stakeholders.
Some were accredited to a Minister accusing the Governor and the
Party leadership in the state of claims confirmed to be untrue and
unscrupulous, and others by groups and individuals who felt skimmed out
hence the need to raise heavy hamattan dust just to heat the system a
little. These acts and counter responses almost exposed the party to the
ridicule of mischief persons and the opposition even.
However now, we are pleased that there’s calm ever since the Party
leadership called for peace and harmony devoid of what so ever that
might have orchestrated the tumultuous misunderstanding between Party
supporters. (brothers of same cord).
The unconditional redress by the State Party Chairman to aggrieved
members of the party and the call for cease fire in any case of rancor
or antipathy has gone great miles in reaffirming and confirming the
uprightness of the party leadership, the willingness of the party
leadership to build confidence amongst all and their great political
maturity in handling the affairs of the Party devoid of all challenges.
These has firmly established strength and a fact that the progress and
interest of the Party cannot be underestimated or compromised.
We salute the courtesy and courage of the Party Chairman and call on
all Party faithfuls to imbibe same humble spirit of tolerance and love
of country.
As a group branded and driven by conceptualized ideals based on
promoting purposeful unity of the Party, we’re elated by this
demonstration of statesmanship and wisdom by His Exelency, the Governor
and His Deputy in seeing to the fact that the internal democracy of the
party is not sacrificed on the altar of familiarisation or trivialities.
We’re confident that this would further strengthen the unity of the
Party and put to rest all nagative misconceptions.
We encourage all those who might have been irked or provoked by
antecedents of the pass or present to embrace truce, shake hands of
forgiveness and join heads with the Lalong/Tyoden unity train and the
Party Exco under the steward leadership of Chief. Latep Dabang in moving
the State forward.
Consequent upon the foregoing, we wish to join millions of party
faithfuls both within and without to equally extol and pass a vote of
confidence on the APC Chairman, Hon. Chief. Latep Dabang and move for
the continuation of his leadership as the Party Chairman in the State.
He has done us proud and we’re confident that much more is still in the pipeline.
We admonish all lovers of our great party to queue into this divine
idea to enable us maintain sound leadership in the party for the common
good of all.
