A governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alfred Dapal Damiyal, has pledged to build a safer, more united, and prosperous Plateau State if elected governor in the 2027 general elections.

Damiyal made the declaration on Tuesday shortly after submitting his completed Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The PDP governorship hopeful said Plateau State requires visionary leadership capable of restoring public confidence, strengthening peace, and creating opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

According to him, his decision to join the governorship race is driven by a commitment to serve the people and address critical challenges facing the state, particularly insecurity, unemployment, and rural underdevelopment.

He stated that, if elected, his administration would focus on accountability, responsible governance, youth empowerment, and peace-building initiatives aimed at promoting stability across Plateau communities.

Damiyal also assured party supporters and residents of Plateau State that inclusive leadership and people-oriented policies would form the foundation of his administration.

Supporters who accompanied him to the PDP national secretariat described him as a grassroots politician with the experience and competence required to reposition Plateau State for sustainable development and unity.

The submission of the nomination and expression of interest forms officially confirms Damiyal’s participation in the race for the PDP governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
