
Nigeria’s men basketball national team, D’Tigers, on Thursday
defeated Cameroon, to qualify for the semi-final of the 2017 FIBA
Afrobasket championship in Tunisia.
The reigning champions won three of the four quarters, to seal their progress.
In the first quarter, D’Tigers won 25 to 18 and also edged the
Cameroonian side 27 to 25 in the second quarter. However, they fell 23
to 27 in the third quarter.
The Nigerians fought back to post a 31-21 win in the last quarter.
The game ended on 106 to 91 points.
They will now face the winner between Senegal and Angola, who will slug it out later Thursday. The semi-final encounter is scheduled for Friday.
