Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has opened up about a near-death experience that almost claimed her life in June, describing it as a terrifying yet life-changing encounter with God’s mercy.
In an emotional Instagram post, Adesua revealed that she suffered a sudden health crisis while in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons. The situation, she said, resulted in an unplanned surgery that could have ended tragically.
“I could have lost my life in June. What I went through was horrific and ended with an unplanned surgery — and strangely, the surgery itself was the least dramatic part of it all,” she wrote.
The Sugar Rush star explained that the medical emergency occurred during a trip to the UK for two speaking engagements. According to her, divine intervention orchestrated every detail of that day to ensure her survival.
“If even one single detail had been different, I wouldn’t be here today. When I think about it, I shudder,” she added.
Adesua said the experience has strengthened her faith and transformed her outlook on life.
“There’s nothing anyone can tell me — God is real,” she affirmed.
She went on to encourage her fans to appreciate life and live with love and kindness.
“Let’s choose to be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I’ll never take another day for granted, neither should you,” she wrote.
