Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has made history as the first musician to sell out the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, Lagos.

The milestone was achieved on Friday, December 26, 2025, when he sold out the theatre’s 3,560-seat capacity. In recognition of this feat, Adekunle Gold was presented with two plaques on Thursday, January 1, 2026—one celebrating him as the first artiste to headline and sell out the venue, and another acknowledging the management and record label that organised the concert.

The star-studded performance featured Adekunle Gold alongside Olamide, with appearances from other notable musicians including Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba.

Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Adekunle Gold thanked fans for their support, writing: “Thank you all for a great end to 2025. Where should I bring the Fuji experience to?”

The achievement was celebrated widely across social media, with Nigerian celebrities such as Davido, Brother Shaggy, Timi Agbaje, Obaksolo, and BBNaija’s Imisi flooding his post with congratulatory messages.
