Nollywood actress and producer Mobimpe Adedimeji has publicly called out a YouTube channel for impersonating her and plagiarizing her creative work.
In a strongly worded statement posted on social media, the film star revealed that the channel, named Mobimpewrite’s Stories, has been copying her content video-for-video and poster-for-poster, deceiving followers into believing it is her official platform.
“I’m tired. I’m fed up,” Mobimpe lamented. “Someone created a YouTube channel named MOBIMPEWRITE’s STORIES just to copy everything I do. She waits for me to post, then uploads the same thing, tricking people into believing it’s me.”
The actress expressed particular frustration over the impersonator’s recent act of copying her heartfelt birthday tribute to her mother, calling it a “disrespectful” and “deeply wrong” move.
“That’s not inspiration. That’s disrespectful,” she wrote. “She’s gaining subscribers, followers, likes, and comments, growing off my hard work and deceiving people who think it’s me.”
Mobimpe revealed that despite efforts by her team to report the fraudulent channel, it remains active. She called on her fans and followers to help report the page and appealed for legal or technical assistance to have it permanently removed.
“To the person behind that page, I know you’re here. I know you’re seeing this. Just know that you will not go scot-free,” she warned. “You’re impersonating me and deceiving people—and one thing I can assure you is this: you will be caught. Soon.”
She concluded her statement with a passionate defense of her work, writing: “I built MOBIMPE TV with tears, passion, and consistency, and I won’t let someone else ruin that or hijack what I’ve poured my heart and soul into.”
Mobimpe’s outcry has sparked widespread support online, with fans urging YouTube to take immediate action against content theft and digital impersonation.
