Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has been thrown into mourning following the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva.
The actress announced the sad news on Thursday via her Instagram page, revealing that her brother passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 72.
In a heartfelt tribute, she wrote: “With acceptance of God’s sovereign will, we announce the call to glory of my dear brother, John Olabiyi Silva … long John Silva … Bros B … Uncle B … my easy-go-lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953 – August 29th, 2025.”
Though not in the limelight like his famous sister, John Olabiyi Silva’s passing has drawn condolence messages from fans and industry colleagues, many of whom fondly referred to him by his nicknames — “Long John Silva,” “Bros B,” and “Uncle B.”
