The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has withdrawn an earlier memo announcing an increase in tariff.
In a Twitter post, it asked its customers to disregard reports that it would be increasing electricity tariffs by July 1.
The company had on Sunday, June 25, released a statement announcing plans to increase the tariff by July 1. The company said the increment was due to the fluctuation of the Naira in the exchange rate.
However, in a statement released on its Twitter handle today, the AEDC said no approval has been granted for an increase in tariff.
