Paramount ruler of Panyam in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, His Royal Highness, Aminu Derwan, has regained freedom three days after he was abducted by gunmen.
The traditional ruler was released around 11:45 pm on Wednesday June 22, to the waiting arms of his family who had been negotiating for his release. Dewan arrived his palace in Panyam amidst jubilation by his subjects and other chiefs on Thursday morning.
The Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, confirmed his release on Thursday, June 23. He said;
It was earlier reported that the kidnappers demanded for N150 million ransom and later reduced it to N10 million on Wednesday morning. It is unclear if the family paid the N10 million or not before his release.
