4 Feared Killed In Plateau, As Irigwe Community Petition Human Right Organisation, Federal Govt

At least no fewer than four persons have been feared killed in Irigwe
community of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State in the
earlier hours of Sunday by suspected herdsmen in an ambushed. The Irigwe Speaking natives of Bassa Local Government Council of
Plateau State have petitioned the Federal Government, International
inhuman Right organistion as well as the Plateau State Government over
renewed killings.

The Youth President Comrade, Ayuba Change Dodo said that the incident
that happened at about 2: am with series of ambushes and killings
within Irigwe Chiefdom by alleged suspected Fulani herdsmen who arrived
the settlement in the odd hours and opened fire on them by shooting
sporadically which made the people flee.

He explained further that they almost wiped out an entire family
where four persons were killed in an ambush at a place Called Ngbrazongo
near kpasho village of Kwall District.

The residents of Ngbrazongo has lost many people to this carnage and
inhumane killings of innocent citizens by suspected herdsmen which have
continued for the past two years of hostilities in Irigwe land.

We the Irigwe community wrote and copied Gov. Lalong, the Presidency
and international NGO on human right violations by bloodletting Fulani
herders who are maiming, killing our women and children.

We are calling on the international human right community to see the
genocides and ethnic cleansing going on in Irigwe speaking natives.

It was gathered that on Saturday, in a village of Arangai, in Mangu
Local Government council, a meat seller, Baba Likita, was killed
alongside two other men from Ampang West of the same Mangu council.

The spokesman of the Special Task Force (STF) on security in the
state, Major Adam Umar, confirmed another incident in Fan district of
Barkin Ladi Local Government where one person, at a village of Ktachudu,
was ambushed and slaughtered by 9.00pm on Sunday.

He said the troops were working hand in hand with the police to get
to the root of the matter as they were intensifying investigation to
unravel the mystery behind the killing.

In a related development, on Sunday night at Bauchi Road and Nasarawa
Gwom, both in Jos North Local Government Area, there was serious
tension as a result of activities of a deadly group known as Sarasuka
which had an encounter with another equally deadly group which led to
the destruction of property while some members of the groups were
injured.

Umar, who also confirmed the operation of the group, told newsmen in Jos
on Monday that the group wanted to disrupt the hard-earned peace the
people had been enjoying in the state, especially during the Sallah
celebration.

“Some vehicles of innocent people were bashed and vandalised. The
situation is, however, calm now as there is free movement of citizens.
