The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered and seized expired condoms donated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which had been illegally repackaged.
NAFDAC revealed that the condoms which expired in 2022 were repackaged under the name “Kiss Condom” with the expiration date extended to 2027.
The Nigerian drug agency made the revelation in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.
According to the statement, NAFDAC also uncovered unregistered narcotics, counterfeit GlaxoSmithKline, GSK medicines, and vaccines that were not properly stored.
