Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed unwavering determination to propel Plateau State to new heights, reassuring its citizens that his administration would not disappoint. The governor made this commitment on Sunday, January 21, during an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, the state capital, to celebrate his triumph at the Supreme Court.
The stadium was teeming with residents and dignitaries from within and outside the state capital, creating an atmosphere of jubilation, especially among the predominantly Christian population of Jos.
Governor Mutfwang delivered a resolute message, stating, “By the grace of God, we will not fail you. We are determined to lead Plateau to a new realm; we will continue where our great leaders have stopped. We will ride on their shoulders and raise Plateau to a new level. I know God will supply the means, but I can assure you the heart to do it is here with us. All we need is the enablement to do what God wants us to do. By the grace of God, continue to pray for us; we will work together. And I’m sure that the prophesies that come, is that all of us – individually and collectively as a state – we would move from healing to wholeness and greater heights.”
Expressing gratitude, Governor Mutfwang thanked the people of the state, as well as friends from across the country and beyond, for their prayers and support.
Bishop Wale Oke, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the guest preacher, declared that Plateau had been healed since the Supreme Court judgment, emphasizing, “Since the judgment of the Supreme Court, Plateau is now healed; the battle is finished.”
The presence of esteemed personalities, such as Major General Lawrence Onoja (rtd), the Gbong Gwom of Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, underscored the collective congratulatory spirit over Governor Mutfwang’s Supreme Court victory, hailed as a triumph for democracy and the people of Plateau State. The Former governor of the state, Senator Jonah Jang, called for unity and support for the governor’s success. The ormer governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna, recalled his tribunal experience in 2003, noting that the verdict of the Supreme Court is a victory for democracy and the people of Plateau State.
Various prayers were offered by interdenominational leaders of churches as various celebrated artists, including Mallam Razphil, Solomon Lange, Apostle Daps, and Ezra Jinang, contributed to the joyous occasion with musical performances.
