Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has expressed concern that her latest social media trend for her single Hot Body could spark conspiracy theories about her.

The Mavin star, who recently joined Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, launched the Hot Body challenge where young women showcase their bodies while vibing to the song. However, the singer worries the unconventional nature of the trend might lead to false accusations.

“I better not get any mami water allegation because of this hot body video,” Ayra Starr wrote on X.

The trend has already drawn criticism, with fellow singer Jaywon questioning her fashion choices and asking if she has parents to guide her.

This comes against the backdrop of similar controversies faced by her label mate, Rema, who was accused of using “satanic/Illuminati” symbols during his November 2023 headline concert at London’s O2 Arena. Rema later clarified that his stage props were cultural references, including a replica of a Benin artifact and the Queen Idia mask.

In March 2025, the singer also dismissed speculations about him belonging to the Illuminati or engaging in devil worship.
