Tensions flared in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday as a crowd of aggrieved individuals stormed the office of CBEX, a digital trading platform, in the Oke Ado area, carting away furniture and equipment following reports of the platform’s sudden collapse.
Eyewitnesses said the mob forcefully broke into the premises and made away with items such as tables, couches, and other office equipment, expressing anger over alleged losses incurred by users of the platform.
The chaos was reportedly sparked by the sudden crash of the platform, which allegedly left many users’ accounts wiped clean.
The incident drew a wave of emotional reactions from affected users, some of whom took to social media to share their distress over lost investments.
A video circulating online captures a large crowd at the CBEX office, with individuals seen removing items from the building amid the commotion.
