Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has raised concerns that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may be receiving misleading information about the country’s security situation from his advisers.

Speaking during the church’s November Holy Ghost Service, themed “The Eve of Glory,” Adeboye said a recent presidential statement claiming that security had improved and internally displaced persons (IDPs) had returned home did not reflect the reality on the ground.

The cleric, who referred to President Tinubu as his “in-law,” suggested that those responsible for drafting the speech may have misrepresented the situation.

“I almost spoke out last month when I heard the speech from my in-law, the President. When I heard him say that all is well now and that displaced people have returned to their villages, I almost said that the person who wrote that speech does not like him,” Adeboye said.

He emphasized that the President had inherited ongoing security challenges but warned that government officials must act decisively to address them.

“Let the government use diplomatic methods to convince President Trump to give us 100 days of grace. Call our service chiefs, fortunately, they are new, and tell them to perform within three months or resign,” he added.

Adeboye explained his usual reluctance to make public statements, noting that, as a clergyman under the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), he observes a chain of authority. “I have discovered in the Bible that a man not under authority cannot cast out a demon,” he said.

Drawing on a principle from physics, he encouraged urgent action, saying, “Whatever method God wants to use, at the end of it all, there will be peace in Nigeria again.”
