Nigerian music star Davido (David Adeleke) has publicly criticised the lawyer representing Sophia Momodu following their recent court appearance over joint custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
Tensions reportedly rose during proceedings when the lawyer questioned how the singer could assure his daughter’s safety, referencing the tragic death of his son in 2022. The remark angered Davido, who was said to have reacted strongly in the courtroom.
The session was briefly halted, and upon reconvening, the judge reportedly asked the singer to apologise to both the court and the lawyer. Davido, however, declined, insisting he could not apologise over comments involving his late child.
Shortly after the hearing, the singer took to social media to vent his frustration, accusing the lawyer of acting unprofessionally and describing the mention of his son as deeply insensitive given what he and his family endured.
In his post, Davido further criticised the lawyer’s conduct and maintained that he stood his ground during the exchange, stressing that the courtroom incident crossed a personal line for him.
The custody dispute between the singer and Momodu continues to draw public attention, with many observers urging both parties to prioritise their daughter’s well-being as the matter unfolds.
