A viral video circulating on social media has sparked widespread reactions after showing church members engaging in an unusual and dramatic activity during a prayer session.
In the video, a pastor is seen instructing members of his congregation to pull down the church’s fence as part of what he described as a symbolic spiritual exercise. According to the pastor, the act represented the biblical fall of the walls of Jericho and was meant to signify the breaking of spiritual barriers hindering the members’ blessings.
He told the congregation that demolishing the fence symbolised freedom from limitations, obstacles, and unseen forces working against their progress, urging them to act in faith as they prayed.
The church members, acting on the instruction, were seen forcefully pulling down the fence while prayers continued.
As expected, the video has generated intense debate online, with many Nigerians expressing shock and scepticism. While some viewers defended the act as a matter of faith and symbolism, others questioned the pastor’s true intentions and criticised what they described as excessive or misguided religious practices.
The video continues to attract mixed reactions as discussions around faith, symbolism, and accountability in religious spaces trend across social media platforms.
