Following recent airstrikes against ISIS terrorists in Sokoto State, the United States has reportedly shifted its focus to the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, where intelligence and surveillance operations are said to be ongoing.

Top security analyst Brant Philip disclosed this development via his X account, where he shared flight tracking data to support his claims. According to the data, a Gulfstream V aircraft was observed flying over parts of Borno State.

Philip stated that the latest intelligence activities are believed to be targeting the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a terrorist group known for operating mainly in Nigeria’s North-East and the Lake Chad Basin region.

ISWAP has remained a major security threat in the region, carrying out attacks on both civilian and military targets. The reported surveillance operations are believed to be part of broader efforts to monitor and weaken the group’s activities within the Sambisa Forest and surrounding areas.
