Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is scheduled to deliver a sermon at Lambeth Palace on Thursday as part of activities lined up for the state visit of Bola Tinubu to the United Kingdom.
Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, serves as a key centre for the Church of England. During the visit, the First Lady is also expected to meet with representatives of the church, according to the official itinerary published by AFP.
The visit marks Nigeria’s first state visit to the United Kingdom in nearly four decades and is aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between both nations.
President Tinubu and the First Lady arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport, ahead of a series of high-level engagements.
Key highlights of the visit include meetings with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as interactions with members of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK.
Mrs Tinubu, an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has remained actively involved in faith-based initiatives and women’s empowerment programmes in Nigeria.
