Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has opened up about her infamous 2021 leaked tape, disclosing that it was the result of a bet involving her former partner and his friends.
The singer made the revelation during an interview on The Breakfast Club released on Tuesday, reflecting on the painful experience.
“When I talked about the s3x tape … that’s how I was able to kind of like, try and get through it. But in hindsight, did I really deal with it? I don’t think so. I was hurt… I was a victim,” Tiwa said.
She explained that at the time, her then-boyfriend claimed the tape had leaked accidentally while he was trying to save it. However, she later discovered it was intentionally shared as part of a bet.
“He said he was trying to save it, and then he pressed send by accident… I later on found out that it was a bet with his friends,” the award-winning singer revealed.
The disclosure has stirred fresh conversations online about betrayal, privacy, and the treatment of women in relationships.
