Three security operatives from different agencies reportedly collapsed on Tuesday during the inauguration ceremony of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
The incident occurred during the parade at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, where security personnel had been standing for hours under the sun.
The affected officers included a male police operative, a male officer of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), and a female operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to a source at the event, the police officer was the first to collapse before being revived and taken in an ambulance to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka for medical attention.
The NSCDC operative reportedly slumped towards the end of the ceremony and was escorted to an ambulance after initially declining to be moved on a stretcher.
Sources attributed the incident to fatigue and prolonged exposure to harsh sunny weather during the parade.
