The non-adherence to health protocols aimed at preventing the spread of the virus has been the major challenge across various countries with so many persons flaunting all set guidelines with flagrant disregard.

It is no longer news that people are not adhering to COVID-19 Protocols as they go to public places without all necessary precautions or any of the preventive aids (PPE). People are nonchalant and indifferent about COVID-19, most especially due to a perceived notion on the received information

Misinformation and rumors on social media platforms are faster than the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it can generate hefty deleterious consequences on health amid a disaster like COVID-19.

Considering general misinformation belief, conspiracy belief, religious misinformation belief and credibility evaluations which have basically stimulated and further aggravated such misinformation and rumor thereby affecting the COVID-19 individual responses

The propagation of misinformation on social media and some religious institutions undermines the COVID-19 responses thereby giving rise to reported cases of the virus which has now introduced the world to the second wave of infections.

It is time for us to be better informed and take responsibility thereby adhering to all health protocols.

The general public should no longer be careless as they go about their daily engagements even in the yuletide season and people must exercise caution and stay safe.

Religious institutions should take the lead in informing their followers on complying with laid down protocols as they don’t observe social distancing, people don’t wear face masks; no provision of water, soaps for washing hands and hand sanitizers.

For us to prevent the extreme measure of a lockdown, citizens must begin to obey all health protocols and maintain personal hygiene.
