Tarmac Security Celebrates 20 Years, Unveils New Facility with Calls for Public-Private Partnership in Tackling Insecurity

In the midst of celebrating its 20th anniversary, Tarmac Security Limited, one of Nigeria’s prominent private security firms, marked the occasion with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art facility in Jos, the capital of Plateau State. Mr. Inkotaria Ipalibo, the Chief Executive Officer of Tarmac Security Limited, seized the opportunity to urge the Federal Government to engage private security agencies in the ongoing battle against insecurity in the nation.w

Addressing guests at the occasion on Tuesday in Jos, Ipalibo emphasized the need for synergy between private and government security agencies, asserting that such collaboration was pivotal to triumphing over the current security challenges. The security expert highlighted the advantages of incorporating diverse perspectives from private security practitioners, stating that this approach would significantly contribute to the fight against crime in Nigeria.

“Regular security agencies have been using the strategies they know over the years, but we haven’t been achieving the desired results. It’s high time they reach out to the private sector so that we can synergize and collaborate effectively,” Ipalibo remarked.

In addition to advocating for collaboration, Ipalibo emphasized the importance of integrating technology into crime prevention efforts. He suggested leveraging technological infrastructure such as tracking devices to enhance the tracking and apprehension of criminals.

Expressing gratitude for the 20 years of success, Ipalibo thanked both God and Tarmac Security Limited’s clients for their unwavering support and patronage.

Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Julius Okoro, echoed the sentiment that security is a collective responsibility. Represented by Superintendent Ayuba Inuwa, Divisional Police Officer, Rantiya Division, CP Okoro reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to collaborate with all stakeholders in the pursuit of tackling crime and ensuring public safety.

Dr Edinen Usoro, Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Zone H, commended Tarmac Security CEO for his resilience and commitment over the years. Usoro urged aspiring entrepreneurs in the security sector to draw inspiration from Tarmac’s success story.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to longstanding and dedicated guards, as well as clients who have faithfully patronized Tarmac Security Limited for over a decade.
