Students and teachers at a school in the Ogba area narrowly escaped tragedy on Monday after a four-storey building housing the institution collapsed minutes after they were evacuated.
The structure reportedly caved in around noon, less than three minutes after students and staff were moved out of the premises.
The building, located at Adudatu Street behind County Hospital in the Aguda area, suddenly collapsed, leaving residents and passersby in shock.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported as everyone had already been evacuated before the incident occurred.
The development comes amid recurring cases of building collapses in Lagos State in recent times.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the collapse has yet to be determined. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the incident.
