South-West Governors Meet in Ibadan to Review Regional Security

South-West governors on Monday converged in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for a high-level meeting to assess the security situation across the region.

Those in attendance include Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Governor Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti).

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke was represented by his deputy, Kola Adeusi.

According to a report by Daily Post, the meeting was convened to review current security challenges affecting the South-West and to strengthen coordinated regional strategies.

The Special Adviser on Media to Governor Makinde, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, confirmed the development in a brief telephone conversation, noting that the session had commenced with full participation from all governors, except Adeleke who sent his deputy.

“The meeting has started. All the governors are present except Governor Adeleke, who was represented by his deputy,” Olanrewaju said.

Further details from the meeting are expected to be released after deliberations.
