SHOOT! 2014… OPENING CEREMONY/WORKSHOP CLASSES COMMENCE

A capacity development program which was started back in 2005 held its
annual training program in the film industry tagged SHOOT! On its
2014 edition at the National Film Institute Jos, Plateau state. Hosted
by the Nigerian Film Commission and Nigerian Broadcasting commission.
Theme: Content Development & The Challenges Of Digitization

Dr Danjuma Wurim Dadu managing director NFC, started with a welcome address  by acknowledging
the efforts of the both the film makers and entertainment employers
(content providers), he further commended the effort of the state
government on the efforts towards encouraging the entertainment
industry. In His Welcome address, the DG of NBC represented by Awalu
Salihu Director of public affairs NBC, said ‘SHOOT’ is a powerful
platform for the development of the broadcasting industry saying Digital
transition is the only bus for the next level. Mrs Jane from Kenya, in
her goodwill message said she was honored to be present to witness such
a program and also commended the Nigerian Film industry, appreciating
all and said Kenya is one of the highest consumers of Nigerian films
stating that they are learning and willing to take the mantle soon. Miss Sylvia Brigas form the United states appreciating the weather also
commended the content development efforts of nigeria. Mr Emanuel Isikaku
speaking on the Marketing of movies said a good film is a film that
bring back its investment. The Governor of plateau state represented by
the Honorable speaker plateau state House of Assembly Mr Titus Alams, declaring the training program open, acknowledged the position of the
state in the Nigerian film industry saying SHOOT 2014 will be beneficial
to all participant, wishing to declare total support for the movie
industry and promise to be open to suggestion on laws to make film
projects work better and be successful on the Plateau and went on to
declare the training program open.
