Rita Daniels, mother of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has shared a heartbreaking photo of her son, Sammy West, in police custody.
Sammy’s arrest on Monday has drawn public attention amid the ongoing marital crisis between Regina and her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Earlier in the week, Regina’s brother, Sweezy, accused Senator Nwoko of orchestrating Sammy’s arrest and described the incident as “an act of intimidation.” He also alleged that Sammy had been denied legal aid and access to food and water while in detention.
Following his arrest in Lagos, Sammy was reportedly transferred to Abuja, where his parents met with him in an attempt to secure his release.
On Thursday, Rita Daniels took to Instagram to express her anguish, posting a photo of Sammy in custody alongside an emotional caption that read:
“Oh God, my heart is broken.”
The post has since drawn widespread sympathy and concern from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
