The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Northern Nigeria (AGNN), Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, has announced preparations for the 2025 edition of the church’s annual national convention, PENIEL, describing it as a critical moment for spiritual revival and national unity.
Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday at Zang Commercial Hall in Jos, Rev. Pam said the convention—scheduled to hold from Wednesday 19th to Friday 21st November 2025 at Zang Secondary School, Bukuru—will rally Christians from across the country for prayer, worship, and intercession for Nigeria.

He described PENIEL as more than a yearly gathering, but “a spiritual convocation designed to renew the faith of believers, strengthen national unity, and call God’s people back to the foundations upon which true revival is built.”
This year’s theme, “Rebuilding the Altar Together: Let the Fire Fall,” is a call for families, communities, institutions, and leaders to restore God’s place in both personal and collective life—especially as Nigeria continues to grapple with social, economic, and security challenges.
The three-day event will feature teachings, revival sessions, and ministerial empowerment from prominent ministers and leaders. Key focus areas include:
- Restoration of personal and family altars
- Leadership responsibility in sustaining revival
- National unity and spiritual transformation
- Intercession for Plateau State and Nigeria
Rev. Pam also announced that the AGNN Bible School Graduation Ceremony will hold on Friday, 21st November, from 2 PM to 4 PM, where men and women trained for ministry will be commissioned.
He outlined three core objectives of this year’s convention:
- Spiritual Renewal – Reigniting the fire of prayer, holiness, and worship among believers.
- Community Strengthening – Promoting unity among churches, denominations, and community leaders.
- National Intercession – Praying for healing, peace, and divine intervention in Plateau State and Nigeria.
The public—including church leaders, youth groups, women’s organizations, traditional institutions, and community stakeholders—is invited to attend. Sessions begin daily at 9:00 AM.
Rev. Pam assured that adequate security and logistics have been arranged in partnership with relevant authorities to ensure a safe and orderly gathering.
The AGNN leadership expressed gratitude to the Plateau State Government, traditional rulers, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), sister denominations, and various partners for their support in preparing for PENIEL 2025. The media was also commended for its role in promoting peace and public awareness.
Rev. Pam closed with a message of hope, expressing faith that PENIEL 2025 will bring divine visitation and transformation: “Our prayer is that God will visit us again—individually and collectively—just as He visited Jacob at Peniel and changed his story.”
PENIEL 2025, he said, promises to be a landmark spiritual event for the church, Plateau State, and the nation at large.
